Welcome to Carisse Studio Café
Ottawa’s only photography gallery/studio & Euro-style café. A take-off of Italian espresso pit stops that feature exquisite coffee, Italian Panini, and specialty desserts, served quickly, cleanly and deliciously, inspired by my trips to Italy with my Italian mother. Carisse Studio Café is dedicated to her and to the art of photography – showcased by the works of Jean-Marc Carisse, my husband and photographer extraordinaire.
We are proud of our first five years on Sussex Dr. and supporting the fine art of photography. We are also proud to have made the front covers of Ottawa and Ontario Tourism for 2009 and 2010 featuring Carisse Studio Café & Photography Gallery not only across Canada but around the world. We were even seen in the Sunday New York Times. 274 Elgin Street, is our new home and we are eager to reunite with our clients and bring art, culture and food back into our lives and yours.
Our café is casual yet sophisticated. In order to keep costs down we are not full service so you order and pay at the cash. Of course, we are happy to provide full service when needed.
A sample of Jean-Marc Carisse's collection is on display here. Most of the photographs are available for purchase. His collection includes the likes of Pierre Trudeau, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and more. We welcome you to browse this eclectic collection bringing musicians, politicians & regular folk together.
Not just any gallery – but a pitstop of cultural delights.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED AND THANK YOU FOR NOT TAKING PICTURES OF THE EXHIBIT. The collection belongs to the artist and they are for sale.
